On Tuesday September 17th, District 4 Commissioner Curt Smith presented Brevard County Fire Rescue with a resolution. The resolution, presented at the commission meeting, recognizes BCFR for its dedication and preparation during this 2019 Atlantic Hurricane season. Great job to all, and lets hope it stays quiet the rest of the season!

In the United States, most brain-eating-amoeba infections occur in bodies of freshwater in Southern states. Infections are most common during the summer months, especially when it is hot for prolonged periods. Although summer has come to an end, our fresh waters stay warm a while longer.
