About the Medical Director!
Dr. John McPherson graduated from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and has been a Board Certified Emergency Room Physician for twenty years. He also has a Master's Degree in Public Health and a Master in Business Administration. Dr. McPherson is the medical director for Brevard County Fire Rescue, Cape Canaveral Fire Department, Cocoa Beach Fire Department, and Indialantic Fire Department.

Brevard County Fire Rescue (BCFR) is the largest Fire Rescue Service in Brevard County and one of the largest in the State of Florida. Currently BCFR has 535 employed firefighters and support staff, and more than 250 volunteers. These personnel respond to calls for assistance from 31 fire stations throughout Brevard County.
Brevard County Fire Rescue is comprised of three sections, all under the direct supervision of the Fire Chief. Each division works closely together to provide the desired level of service to the citizens of Brevard County.

BCFR provides fire rescue dispatch services for all 911 ambulances and fire rescue services in unincorporated Brevard County, Port Canaveral, Cape Canaveral, West Melbourne, Palm Shores, Melbourne Village.
